When looking through someones wallet you don't usually get the whole picture of the person who owns the wallet. For instance, if you were to look through my wallet you would see that I don't have any cash, a lot of expired coupons, and only one credit card. I don't have any pictures of people that I love and surround myself with because they would be hidden anyways. In other words, people might get the assumption that I don't have important people in my life and maybe that I don't spend a lot of money. Either that, or that I spent all my cash and I spend a lot of money. In reality I have many people that I love and I spend money moderately.
Another thing that I think could throw people off is business cards and such. This being because it makes it look like they know a lot of people and seems like they are a very busy, important person. I think that wallets would be a very deceiving way to base you assumptions about someone on.
